Further Your Education

The Florida Hospital Graduate Medical Education curriculum goes beyond the basics to advance residents’ and fellows’ grasp of the fundamentals. From conducting research to practicing quality patient care, our program equips you with the necessary skills and scholarly opportunities for a career in medicine.

We are committed to serving the community, the sponsoring institution, the faculty, staff, resident physicians and medical students. The mission of Florida Hospital, and of the residency and fellowship programs, is "To extend the healing ministry of Christ." We do so by preparing compassionate and competent physicians who, we hope, will plan to practice in Central Florida when they complete their training.

Visiting Residents
In support of its educational mission, Florida Hospital Graduate Medical Education provides rotating residents from any ACGME/AOA/CPME-accredited training program in good standing with a clerkship experience. Our clerkship offers a variety of clinical exposures in its residency training programs or with any of its registered FH Medical Staff members in good standing. The experience is designed to fulfill the requirements as outlined by the Specialty Board of the program. The purpose of this policy is to provide an environment that is safe for patients, office staff, medical trainees and medical staff; respect patients' rights to privacy and confidentiality; and enhance the educational experience of the rotating residents.

Advanced Practitioners
GME credentials the following programs: ARNP, CRNA, CNM and PA. GME does not provide housing, and the list of required documents can be found on the first page of the application. Advanced Practitioners are responsible for finding their own preceptors and obtaining signatures for approval. The first requirement for Advanced Practitioners is to determine if a current Academic Affiliation Agreement is in place between your school and Florida Hospital. If a new contract is necessary, it must be approved and signed on the Florida Hospital template without changes. All required documents, including the signed agreement, must be turned in to be considered for a rotation. An individual orientation session with the Clerkship Coordinator can be scheduled as soon as all documents are received.Advanced Practitioner Application

Orientation

All medical students, advanced practitioners and visiting residents and fellows must complete the general GME Orientation session prior to the start of their scheduled training on any Florida Hospital campus. This must be scheduled with the Clerkship Coordinator after the appropriate documents have been submitted.
