VISITORSHIP
POLICY
In
support of its educational mission, FH GME provides individuals
with visitorship experiences in its Residency Training
Programs or with any of its registered FH Medical Staff
members in good standing. A visitorship may be part of
a required practicum experience or an informal personal
enrichment experience that is occasional in nature. Occasional
is defined as no more than 2 days per academic year. The
purpose of this policy is to provide an environment that
is safe for patients, office staff, medical trainees and
medical staff; respect patients' rights to privacy and
confidentiality; and enhance the encounter for the visitor
while on Florida Hospital property. Individuals accessing
FH sites for interviewing or touring purposes are excluded.
I.
Interested individuals who wish to participate in a visitorship
with any of the GME residency training programs must complete
the registration form and forward to the Residency Coordinator
of the program of interest.
II.
Interested individuals who wish to participate in a visitorship
with FH GME registered Medical Staff members in good standing
must complete the registration form and forward to the
GME Coordinator.
III. A visitor must be at least 18 years of age at the time of the visitorship.
IV.
Approved visitors must be identified by a name tag provided
by the Residency Coordinator or the GME Coordinator. This
identification must be worn at all
times.
V.
The visitor must be in the company of the approving physician
at all times when on FH property.
VI.
There may be extraordinary circumstances where there is
a request for a visitorship experience that does not meet
the extent of this policy. Such requests may be approved
at the discretion of the Director of Academic Affairs.
VII.
Visitors will abide by all applicable Florida Hospital
policies.
VIII.
Any violation to any of the above policies will result
in immediate termination of the visitorship experience and may be denied future visitorship experience at Florida Hospital sites.
