Prerequisites

  • Board certified/eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
  • DEA and Florida Medical Licensure eligible
  • Excellent academic and clinical performance in residency training
  • Excellent leadership skills

Program

Mission

Innovate, Educate, Advocate, and Integrate: preparing tomorrow's physicians for excellence in health care delivery to all women across the lifespan.

Philosophy

An optimal comprehensive, non-reproductive and reproductive women-centered focus with clinical problem solving in sex and gender medicine is best achieved in a robust multidisciplinary setting that nurtures excellence in: educational innovation, clinical care, research endeavors, advocacy for patients and mentorship.

Goals

1. Optimize women's health care by teaching fellows how to recognize and address unique gender-based differences in their individual patients and the population.

2. Promote ongoing integration of new scientific development in girls' and women's health into the medical curriculum.

3. Foster the development of the next generation of physician leaders in women's health education, care and research.

CURRICULUM OVERVIEW

Curricular Structure

To accomplish the curricular goal, the curriculum will span one year and consist of 12 units. These units will cover diverse subject matter, blending gender-specific information into existing, traditional learner experiences.

Program Duration

The program duration is 12 months beginning July 1 through June 30.

  • Current annual stipend $52,000.
  • Continuing education allowance of $1,500.
  • 5 working days for CME.

  • Call from home.

Vacation/Personal Time:
Fellows receive four weeks vacation/personal time each year. Holidays are also off and include the following: Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day, and Memorial Day.

Deadline for Application

Deadline for receiving applications is December 31st. Final decisions are made by January 30th. After receipt of a complete application, applicants will be notified if a personal interview is required.
