Dr. Hernandez was raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico as the third child of four children. She stayed in Puerto Rico for college and medical school where she attended the University of Puerto Rico and then the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus. During her time at this university, she had participated in a number of student-run free clinics. Her interests include sports and playing the piano. Dr. Hernandez is thinking about doing a fellowship after residency.
