Dr. Al Achkar was raised in Syria along with eight other siblings. He attended a six-year medicine program at Aleppo University School of Medicine in his birthplace. In medical school, he served as a Student Representative and a Student Activist. He is married to his beautiful wife, Nadia, and has two pet dogs. On his spare time, Dr. Al Achkar plays the "lute", a Middle-Eastern string instrument, reads, and enjoys meeting new people. He has goals to do a fellowship in faculty development and to one day be an attending physician.
