We
believe family physicians specialize in the patient, rather than a specific organ or system or disease. As Family Physicians, we take care of over 90% of the medical concerns that cause a person to seek a physician. We provide evidence based care to patients as an individual with unique needs and circumstances.
"Why Florida Hospital Family Medicine Residency?"
We
are a well-established, fully accredited residency
program with over 35 years of experience. We have the best of both worlds: we provide residents with a balanced, full spectrum experience in both tertiary and community hospital settings. The first year is set in Florida Hospital Orlando, a cutting edge facility with access to the latest medical technology and subspecialty care. The following two years are spent at Winter Park Memorial Hospital, an unopposed community based program that is Family Medicine driven.
One of our greatest program strengths is our diverse and highly skilled faculty comprised of family physicians, pediatricians, geriatricians, obstetricians, psychologists, pharmacists, research specialists, and practice management experts.
What sets us apart from other programs:
Cutting edge patient simulation lab devoted to training family medicine skills.
International mission trips to Latin America.
Procedure based clinics in gynecology, dermatology, tobacco cessation, pain management.
Group visit treatments for chronic disease management, geriatric evaluations, and life style management.
Active research and scholarly programs.
We are particularly excited about our new Centre for Family Medicine which opened in June 2010. This multimillion dollar facility is outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment and housed in the heart of the Winter Park community.
