Dennis A. Hernandez MD FAAP FACEP

Dennis A. Hernandez, MD is the Medical Director of Pediatric Emergency Services at Walt Disney Pavilion at Florida Hospital for Children. For many years, he served as the Medical Director of Pediatric Emergency Services at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Tampa, a designated Pediatric Trauma Center. He also held an administrative position as the Executive Director for Emergency Medical Associates of Florida, LLC for six years.

His pediatric residency was completed at All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL where he also served as Chief Resident. He remained at All Children's Hospital in a Junior Faculty role, affiliated with the University of South Florida, and then completed a fellowship program in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Tampa General Hospital. He is board certified in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Hernandez has served on multiple hospital, state and national committees, and has dedicated much time to develop processes for better communication with community physicians to ensure prompt and efficient care of their patients. One of his goals is to develop a product where Quality of Care and Patient Experience may serve as benchmarking to other institutions.
