Welcome to the Florida Hospital Department of Continuing Medical Education (DCME). Florida Hospital is one of the largest healthcare providers of CME in Florida. Our mission is to extend the healing ministry of Christ by improving the knowledge, competence, and performance of our medical staff through development and execution of CME events and activities. DCME encourages needs-based CME activities that will influence physician behavior, ultimately resulting in improved patient outcomes.

APPLYING FOR CME

Before submitting an application.

Topics for CME activities should meet the following criteria:

  • Based on physician needs, or a "gap" between current and best practice
  • Based on evidence that constitute best practices
  • Result in a change in physician practice and/or improved patient outcomes

Speakers with the highest levels of expertise and least conflict of interests are preferred. We encourage you to call DCME if there are any questions regarding the appropriateness of a subject or speaker.

Submitting the application.

Download the current CME application form and follow instructions. Be sure to attach any supporting documentation required. Due dates for submitting CME applications:

Live didactic single event

Multi-CME event, e.g. symposium, workshop

Regularly scheduled series, e.g. tumor board, grand rounds, etc.

Applications are reviewed by the CME director with preliminary approval, denial, or requests for changes as needed. CME credits are granted upon submission of all final documents to DCME within 14 days of the activity.
